Mentoring Program: Personalized one-on-one and group mentoring sessions aimed at supporting at-risk youth facing academic, social, or personal challenges.

Homework Help: Structured assistance with homework and academic projects to enhance academic achievement and foster essential study skills.

Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) is an early childhood education program that is designed to effectively prepare preschool age children for kindergarten. High-quality early childhood education, including prekindergarten, helps to ensure that children have a better chance of succeeding in school, work, and life.

After-School Enrichment Program: Educational and recreational activities that reinforce school learning, along with life skills training in areas such as communication, self-advocacy, money management, and personal hygiene. Activities are adapted to meet the needs of children with physical, developmental, and behavioral health conditions.

Community Engagement Activities: Community-based events such as arts and crafts workshops, sports day, drama or cultural celebrations, designed to be accessible to children and youth with physical, developmental, or behavioral health conditions. These activities promote social inclusion and reduce isolation by encouraging active community participation.

Supportive Counseling and Support Services: Counseling, mediation, and support groups that address emotional, behavioral, and family-related issues; these services are tailored to children with significant mental health or developmental health conditions requiring counseling to prevent institutionalization.

Advocacy and Referrals: Assistance in navigating systems such as education, healthcare, and social services, including referrals to community resources. Advocacy services help ensure that the needs of children with disabilities are met in their home and community.

Community Participation and Engagement: Resources and support for children/youth with disabilities and their families, encouraging community engagement and inclusion through participation in local events and services.

Respite Services: Short-term relief services for families and caregivers of children/youth with special needs, providing trained direct care to support the child’s development and well-being.

Prevocational Services: Preparation for entry into the workforce through training in general workplace skills, including communication, punctuality, and problem-solving.

Training and Support for Families/Caregivers: Education and support services for families of children/youth with special needs, promoting self-sufficiency, advocacy, and the ability to support their child’s development.

Internship Opportunities through The Determination Center and Syracuse University: Internship opportunities at Syracuse University, offered in partnership with The Determination Center, provide college students with the chance to engage in meaningful internships across various departments and disciplines within the university. Participants gain hands-on experience, build professional networks, and enhance their understanding of potential career paths in a dynamic and diverse academic environment.
